Plaisance: Seizure of 33.8 Kilograms of Cannabis
Nazia Khan was arrested on Thursday, December 11, at the Plaisance airport. In her luggage, officers from the ADSU, in collaboration with CANS, discovered 30 packages containing a total of 33.8 kilograms of cannabis.
The British national was returning from a trip to Bangkok, Thailand, when she was intercepted. The street value of the cannabis is estimated to be Rs 84 million.
A "controlled delivery" operation aimed at tracing her local contacts yielded no results. Nazia Khan has been placed in police custody under a provisional charge of drug importation.
