La Preneuse: 73-Year-Old Austrian Tourist Drowns

At La Preneuse, a 73-year-old Austrian tourist tragically lost his life due to a drowning incident that occurred at sea on Friday, December 12.

According to police reports, he was diving when he encountered difficulties. The crew of a catamaran, from which he had previously set out to dive, immediately retrieved him and administered first aid. Officers from the National Coast Guard later intervened, and the victim was transported to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

An autopsy determined that the cause of death was drowning asphyxia. The tourist was scheduled to leave the country on December 17.
