A Local Case of Chikungunya Detected in Roches-Brunes

A case of chikungunya has been confirmed on the afternoon of Friday, December 12, following analyses conducted at the Candos laboratory. The patient is a 68-year-old resident of Roches-Brunes.

She is currently hospitalized and receiving necessary care at Candos Hospital. The last reported case of this disease was on October 9, 2025.

Dr. Fazil Khodabocus stated that regular fumigation and control operations are being carried out to limit the proliferation of mosquitoes, which are the main vectors of the disease.
