Australia: Bondi Attack Leaves 11 Dead, According to New Police Report

A shooting at Bondi Beach in Sydney, Australia, has resulted in 11 fatalities, as per a new police report.

Israeli President Isaac Herzog condemned the "cruel attack on Jews" following the shooting, urging Australia to take stronger measures against antisemitism.

"At this very moment, our brothers and sisters in Sydney, Australia, have been attacked by despicable terrorists in a very cruel assault on Jews who had gathered at Bondi Beach to light the first candle of Hanukkah," Herzog stated in a speech during an event in Jerusalem.

Australian authorities have not officially confirmed that the attack specifically targeted the Jewish community, but the head of the Jewish Association of Australia referred to it as a "tragedy that was entirely foreseeable."

Australian police reported that two individuals are in custody following multiple gunfire reports on December 14 at the famous Bondi Beach, urging the public to seek shelter.

According to Australian national broadcaster ABC, one of the shooters is among the deceased, and the attack has also left 12 others injured.
