Mother, the Heartbeat

Pregnancy is painful. The looming complications are inevitably painful. Sleepless nights are painful. The period before delivery is painful. Giving birth is painful. Breastfeeding is painful. Despite the exhaustion, she perseveres. She embraces these hardships as a blessing, a source of pride, and a joy. All she desires is to become a mother, to bring life into the world with the will of Almighty Allah.

Once she becomes a mother, she remains a mother forever. The only time a mother smiles when her child cries is at the moment of birth, and thereafter, for the rest of her life, she will move heaven and earth to soothe her child. Her entire existence revolves around the well-being and development of her children. This is her lifelong commitment.

Life doesn’t come with a manual; it comes with a mother.

Her unconditional love. Her devoted care. Her incredible resilience. Her steadfast support. Her immense sacrifices. Her selfless altruism. Her instinctive protection. Her emotional backing. Her careful consideration. Her unwavering patience. Her all-encompassing concern. Her unfaltering empathy. Her vibrant energy. Her direct approach. Her attentive listening. Her effective guidance. Her insightful analysis. Her constructive advice. Her relentless pursuit of our well-being.

She is a one-woman army, managing the household, family, and children with meticulous dedication and profound devotion. She wears multiple hats and fulfills her diverse roles with remarkable skill.

A mother is a role model in every sense. She can take on the responsibilities of many, yet no one can replace her. She is irreplaceable. She is essential. She is the anchor of our lives, our limitless shelter. She is the core of all matters, our root, our foundation, the cornerstone of society.

Behind every civilized nation lies the guidance of a mother. She is the origin from which society, family, the state, and the nation spring. She shapes and molds the future generation — she is a mother.

It takes true courage to love another more than oneself. She prioritizes her children's needs above her own. Motherhood is about wanting the best for others without expecting anything in return. She acts not to impress but to express her love and care. The more she gives, the less she feels she has done. No luxury hotel can compare to the comfort of a mother’s embrace.

A mother is the only one who truly understands what her children do not say. She is a repository for all our emotions — our pain, happiness, and worries. She is always vigilant and ready to address any challenge. She conceals her worries to provide us strength. Her relentless efforts to foster our growth and resolve our difficulties are unparalleled.

She meticulously attends to every detail concerning her children's upbringing and future. Even her discipline and refusals serve as vaccinations for our future. She knows when to establish boundaries and the reasons behind them. She is our compass, guiding us through life.

The best affirmation of a mother is found in the Holy Quran: "Paradise lies under the feet of a mother." Mothers are revered in Islam. The Holy Book underscores the significance of honoring and respecting mothers. Showing affection and kindness to parents is a form of devotion. Islam teaches us to treat them with humility and tenderness.

A mother is our sunshine; her love and care illuminate our lives. She stays awake in the darkest hours, praying to Allah to brighten our lives. And is there anything more sincere and powerful than a mother’s prayers?

May Allah grant Jannah to all mothers, for that is where they truly belong forever.
