COI – ECA: Regional Action Plan for the Blue Economy 2025-2030

From December 8 to 10, the Indian Ocean Commission (IOC), in collaboration with the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (ECA), organized a workshop on the blue economy.

Around thirty regional stakeholders and experts attended to review and validate the Regional Action Plan for the Blue Economy 2025-2030 (PAREB).

Why a PAREB?

The blue economy connects all the islands of the Indian Ocean region and shapes their development. It represents not only a sector with high potential but also a true lever for regional cooperation. Indeed, the five member states of the IOC control over six kilometers of maritime area.

The PAREB is more than just a document: it is a regional strategy.
