Income Support: Rs 63.8 Million Disbursed Between September 1 and December 4

A total of Rs 63.8 million has been distributed as part of the Income Support program, including year-end bonuses, from September 1 to December 4. This information was provided by Prime Minister Navin Ramgoolam in a written response to MP Babita Thannoo.

According to the Mauritius Revenue Authority (MRA), approximately 6,000 individuals are expected to benefit from the Income Support each month during the 2026-2027 financial year. This assistance is intended for those whose monthly income does not exceed Rs 20,000 for couples and Rs 10,000 for individuals living alone, following the increase in the retirement pension eligibility age, now set at 65 years.
