Port Louis Court: Preliminary Charges Against Raquel Jolicoeur Dismissed

In the Port Louis Court, the preliminary charges against Raquel Jolicoeur were dismissed under the Prevention of Terrorism Act and the Breach of ICTA on Monday, December 15.

The singer was arrested on May 2, 2022, in Terre-Rouge. According to the police, heroin valued at Rs 10 million, explosives, a firearm, and ammunition were seized from Jean Raquel Jolicoeur's home in Roche-Bois. However, he denied the allegations, claiming to be a victim of framing. His lawyer, Me Sanjeev Teeluckdharry, requested the charges to be dismissed.

At the case hearing this morning, the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) did not object to this request.
