In Anticipation of Heavy Rains: Rs 249 Million Released by the Government for Drain Cleaning

In anticipation of heavy rains, the Minister of National Infrastructure, Ajay Gunness, has instructed that all cleaning work for rivers and drains be completed by February. He made this statement following a meeting with representatives from municipalities and district councils held on Monday, December 15, in the Port-Louis municipality.

A budget of Rs 249 million has been allocated for all municipalities and district councils, he stated. The Minister of National Infrastructure emphasized that despite the challenging economic situation, the Ministry of Finance has granted the necessary financial approval.
