Assault in Cascavelle: A Driver Confronted by a Bus Conductor

An altercation between a motorist and a bus conductor in Cascavelle, captured by witnesses, was widely shared on social media this weekend. The incident occurred on Friday, December 12, 2025, at 4:34 PM.

According to a complaint filed with the Bambous police the following day, a 29-year-old student residing in Beau-Bassin was driving his red Nissan Micra when a brown bus abruptly tried to cut in front of his vehicle. Faced with a lack of space and in order to avoid a collision, the driver claims he had to stop.

It was then that the bus conductor allegedly exited the bus and approached the car. According to the student, he knocked on the window several times before opening the door and attempting to pull him out of the vehicle while delivering several blows to his face and chest. The door was reportedly slammed shut violently on the driver's knees.

While no serious injuries were reported, the complainant states he is experiencing ongoing pain. He asserts he can clearly identify his assailant.

The incident, quickly circulated on social media, has prompted numerous reactions from internet users condemning the "unacceptable" behavior and calling for sanctions against any form of public violence.

The National Land Transport Authority (NLTA) confirms that the involved bus, a Hino model, is registered to a resident of Quatre-Bornes. The Bambous police have launched an investigation to determine responsibilities and potential legal actions regarding this incident.
