At Mare-La-Chaux: Missing 25-Year-Old Found Dead

A lifeless body was discovered on Monday, December 15, in a sugarcane field, approximately 100 meters from the main road, Royal Road, in Mare-La-Chaux. The Belle-Mare police were alerted and arrived at the scene around 7:30 AM.

The victim, a 25-year-old man, was found in an advanced state of decomposition and was wearing black clothing. The area was immediately secured and a guard was placed on site.

According to available information, the man had been reported missing by a relative since December 9. The remains were transported to the Dr. Jeetoo hospital morgue for an autopsy; however, the cause of death could not be determined at this time.

A police investigation is currently underway.
