PRB - No retroactive payment: the GSEA denounces an unfulfilled electoral promise

The Prime Minister, Navin Ramgoolam, has announced that no retroactive payments will be granted during the implementation of the upcoming Pay Research Bureau report, prompting a reaction from the Government Services Employees Association (GSEA). "This is a real blow to civil servants," said Gheerishsingh Gopaul, the GSEA's general secretary. He described the situation as an unfulfilled electoral promise and lamented the authorities' lack of responsiveness to the public sector's demands.
