Natural Bridge in L’Escalier: Police Seek Help to Identify Man Found Dead at Sea

A man was found dead at sea yesterday, Tuesday, December 16, at the Natural Bridge in L’Escalier. The identity of the victim and the exact circumstances of his death remain unknown, according to a police statement. Despite searches in the area to identify the man, they have been unsuccessful. The police continue their investigation and invite anyone with information to come forward to help identify the victim or clarify the circumstances of this tragedy.

According to initial reports, the victim was of average build, light complexion, with short black hair, and approximately 1.80 meters tall. At the time of his discovery, he was wearing a black t-shirt with the logo "Salty CRF," blue shorts with a seaweed pattern, and a yellow necklace with a cross-shaped pendant.

The events occurred around 6:30 PM when a resident of La Baraque in L’Escalier alerted the authorities, reporting a person in distress at sea. The police immediately responded to the scene and requested support from the Police Helicopter Squadron for search and rescue operations.

The man's body was located, recovered, and transported to Jawaharlal Nehru Hospital in Rose-Belle, where a doctor confirmed his death, suggesting drowning. The body has since been handed over to the police for an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.
