Insight: The Limits of the First Economic Act of the Alliance of Change

Thirteen months after the Alliance of Change came to power, a certain clarity emerges: the first year of the Ramgoolam-Bérenger partnership has not been one of economic construction, but rather one of repair.

Institutional repair, democratic repair, repair of international credibility. This work is necessary, sometimes even beneficial, but at this stage, it is insufficient to meet the immense expectations that have arisen from the recent wave of change.
