Engineer Expulsion: CWA's Director General Asserts Every Employee Must Take Responsibility
"Every employee of the Central Water Authority must take responsibility for their actions." This was the firm statement made by the organization’s Director General, Shyam Thanoo, in response to the expulsion of engineer Acharya Vinobha Boodhun.
He emphasized that no negligence will be tolerated, stating, "Every employee must perform their duties correctly."
Additionally, Shyam Thanoo clarified that the Cluny reservoir will not be demolished at this time.
It is noteworthy that Acharya Vinobha Boodhun, an Executive Engineer, was expelled for "serious failures in his professional duties related to the construction project of the Cluny reservoir, covering the period from October 2021 to June 2023." Such a measure is rare in the CWA's history, where professional misconduct usually results in suspensions or disciplinary actions but rarely leads to immediate expulsion.
