Raid on a Factory in Riche-Terre: Over 46,000 Plastic Bags Seized

A police raid conducted by the Environmental Police, along with officers from the Plastic Division of the Ministry of Environment, on Thursday, December 18, uncovered the illegal production of plastic bags in a factory located in the industrial zone of Riche-Terre.

During the operation, officers discovered machines actively producing Roll-on, Vest-type, and non-woven polypropylene bags. The individual responsible for the factory was notified and charged with illegal manufacturing.

In total, 46,372 plastic bags of various types were seized and sealed as evidence. No incidents were reported during the operation. Samples have been sent for analysis, and an investigation is ongoing.
