The Lux Collective Strengthens Its Leadership in Sustainability with the 4th Edition of the CEO Circle of Care Awards

Recognized as a leader in sustainability within the industry, The Lux Collective celebrated innovation, commitment, and excellence during the 4th edition of the "TLC CEO Circle of Care Awards." This significant event highlighted the most visionary initiatives of the group and the exemplary involvement of its hotels and teams, perfectly aligned with its philosophy: "We Make Each Moment Matter, We Care About What Matters."

Marie-Laure Ah-You, Chief Strategy Officer of The Lux Collective, emphasized the importance of this collective dynamic: "The TLC CEO Circle of Care Awards are not just a moment of recognition; they embody our shared commitment to meaningful actions and transformative projects. They illustrate our values, our sense of responsibility, and our ability to create a lasting impact well beyond the walls of our establishments."

The Best Guest Care Award was awarded to LUX* South Ari Atoll, recognized for the consistency and excellence of the experience provided to its guests, based on the highest satisfaction score recorded through the group's satisfaction survey. A special mention was given to LUX* Marijani, which achieved the second-best customer satisfaction score. Meanwhile, the Best Team Member Care Award was presented to Tamassa Resort, following its outstanding results in the annual Great Place to Work® survey, reflecting a strong culture of well-being and continuous development. LUX* Marijani also received a special mention for its notable efforts in supporting the growth and professional development of its teams.

As for the Best Community Care Award, it was awarded to LUX* Marijani, whose partnership with Seaweed Mamas serves as a model for women's empowerment. Through this initiative, the hotel supports cultural transmission, economic independence, and the preservation of local artisanal heritage. The resort also distinguished itself with its solidarity initiative during Ramadan, providing Iftar meals to community members in a spirit of generosity and inclusion.

A special mention was awarded to SALT of Palmar for its "Make a Change, Help a Child" program. In response to a high absenteeism rate at a school in Belle Mare, the hotel developed an educational initiative focused on experiential learning and agricultural techniques, fostering empowerment, responsibility, and renewed interest in schooling. As a result, the attendance rate increased from 20% to over 50%. LUX* Le Morne and LUX* Grand Baie were also recognized for the relevance and impact of their programs, each receiving a Merit Prize in this category.

Sustainability was at the heart of the awarded initiatives. In the environment category, the Best Environment Care Award was won by SALT of Palmar for its exceptional work promoting permaculture among more than 70 farmers on the East Coast. The project encourages sustainable farming practices such as composting, natural fertilization, and regenerative agriculture, thereby reducing dependence on chemicals while improving soil health and fostering a more resilient and sustainable food ecosystem.

A special mention was awarded to LUX* Grand Gaube, whose energy audit led to a complete overhaul of its air conditioning systems, generating annual savings of over 37,000 kWh and Rs 200,000—demonstrating that operational efficiency and environmental responsibility can coexist harmoniously. A Merit Prize was awarded to LUX* South Ari Atoll, LUX* Saint Gilles, Tamassa, and LUX* Belle Mare for their significant contributions to ecological transition. LUX* Chongzuo also received Special Recognition for its remarkable efforts and impact.

LUX* Marijani received the prestigious Best of the Best Award, marking an exceptional year characterized by commitment, innovation, and a deeply human approach to hospitality. This award—based on the best combined score across the four assessment pillars—celebrates the hotel's exceptional impact on its guests, teams, community, and environment.

The Runner-up Best of the Best Award was given to SALT of Palmar, recognizing its solid performance across all four pillars of the Circle of Care and its hospitality approach grounded in the group's values. Through its sustained commitment and innovative programs, SALT of Palmar demonstrates that modern hospitality can drive positive, lasting change.

During the ceremony, Olivier Chavy, CEO of The Lux Collective, praised the remarkable commitment of the teams: "What we celebrate today is not just a series of projects—it is a philosophy. It is not enough to talk about impact; we must embody it. Each initiative is a testament to a profound sense of service and true pride. The result? A hotel group that inspires, transforms, and genuinely cares for all. Let’s continue to build a better and fairer future for everyone—wherever our resorts are located."
