In Rose-Hill: Newborn Found Abandoned in an Insulated Bag
In Rose-Hill, a newborn was discovered abandoned in an insulated bag in front of a church last night, Thursday, December 18. The discovery was made by a local resident along with three nuns. The baby girl was wrapped in a blanket.
The infant, estimated to be one to two days old, was taken to the hospital for care. Authorities are actively searching for the parents, and an investigation is underway.
Ariane Navarre-Marie, the Minister of Gender Equality and Family Welfare, expressed her deep sorrow over the abandonment of this baby, especially during the holiday season. She noted that this is the second case of abandonment recorded in six months. The Foster Care Unit has already initiated steps to find a foster family for the child upon her discharge from the hospital.
