The PRB Report Released This Friday

The report from the Pay Research Bureau regarding the salary review for civil servants and those in parastatal bodies will be made public this Friday, December 19, 2025.

Highly anticipated, this report was presented to the Cabinet, as announced by Navin Ramgoolam.

During an appearance on Nawaz Noorbux's show "At the Heart of the News" on Tuesday, the Prime Minister indicated that there would be no retroactive payments. According to him, such a measure is "impossible" given the current economic context, which is marked by strong budgetary constraints and the need to maintain balance in public finances.

From the union's perspective, the Prime Minister's announcement was perceived as a significant setback for civil servants, who were hoping for financial compensation after several years of waiting.
