Christmas Solidarity: Radio Plus Treats Children

Every year, Radio Plus comes together to brighten the Christmas season for children. On December 23, a hundred children from NGOs will experience a memorable day, including a visit to the Vanille Nature Park, where they will receive gifts and enjoy a festive lunch. The following day, December 24, Radio Plus will distribute toys to NGOs and community groups, who will then ensure these gifts reach children in their local areas.

During this festive season, Radio Plus reaffirms its social commitment and its closeness to the community. True to its mission, the radio will accompany about a hundred children on December 23 for a day filled with joy. Children from the NGO La Colombe, the Fraternité Nouvel Espoir association from Tranquebar, and the Bien-Être association from Mahébourg are invited to explore the Vanille Nature Park.

At 10 AM, children will dive into this world-famous zoological park, home to one of the largest collections of Aldabra giant tortoises in captivity. The park also serves as a breeding ground for over 2,000 Nile crocodiles, which visitors can observe in their natural habitat.

In addition to reptiles, Vanille Nature Park hosts a variety of butterflies and insects, among other attractions.

The day will continue with a lunch provided for the children, culminating in a much-anticipated gift distribution.

"This gift distribution would not have been possible without the generosity of our listeners, who have placed numerous gifts under our Radio Plus Christmas tree. We thank them immensely for this gesture of solidarity and sharing," says Venen Coolen, station manager of Radio Plus.

On December 24, Radio Plus hosts will travel across the island to spread joy on Christmas Eve. They will visit several associations to deliver gifts intended for children. "We will be giving these gifts to NGOs and other associations, as they are best positioned to identify pockets of poverty and vulnerable families. We are delighted to provide these gifts and bring smiles to the children of Mauritius on Christmas Day," adds Venen Coolen.

To celebrate Christmas Eve in a warm and festive atmosphere, tune in to Radio Plus on December 24. A special energetic and enthusiastic show will accompany you throughout the evening. The Radio Plus team will be out in the field, traversing the island to share the excitement of Christmas live: from last-minute shopping to preparations and the warm ambiance of the festivities, all set to a selection of seasonal music to enhance your evening.
