The University of Mauritius (UoM) has made its debut in the Times Higher Education global rankings in 2023, with an improvement in its positioning expected in 2025. It is with this pride that Jean-Claude Autrey departs from the chancellorship of UoM, emphasizing that Réduit "remains to this day the only institution in the country and one of the few in Africa to be included in this ranking."

Jean-Claude Autrey has been in office since February 2015, serving as the fourth chancellor.
