Death of Dominique Paturau, Pioneer of Mauritian Aviation
Dominique Paturau, one of the first captains of Air Mauritius, has passed away at the age of 76.
Among the significant moments in his career and in the history of the country is October 1989, when he piloted the papal flight of the late Pope John Paul II, alongside Captain Pramil Banymandhub. Aboard an ATR 42, he facilitated the transport of the pontiff during his historic visit to Rodrigues.
His dedication and contributions are permanently etched in the history of Air Mauritius.
