Goodlands: A Young Motorcyclist Loses His Life Four Days Before Christmas

In Goodlands, just four days before Christmas, a tragic incident has cast a shadow over the festive season. Samuel Eloic Vert, a 19-year-old motorcyclist residing in the area, succumbed to his injuries following a violent fall on the road on Sunday, December 21.

According to police reports, the accident occurred around 4:25 PM in Goodlands. The young man was riding his motorcycle when he lost control of the vehicle. The motorcycle skidded on the road, and Samuel Eloic Vert was violently thrown to the ground. When law enforcement arrived, the victim was lying on his back on the left side of the road, suffering from severe head injuries and bleeding profusely.

Passersby quickly gathered at the scene, and volunteers administered first aid. Samuel Eloic Vert was then transported by police to the Mediclinic in Goodlands. Despite prompt medical attention, the doctor could only confirm his death shortly after his admission.

The autopsy attributed the death to severe cranio-cerebral injuries. The police noted that the road was dry and there were no works being carried out at the time of the accident. Safe City surveillance footage shows that the motorcycle was coming from the direction of Vel Plaza and heading towards Super U when the motorcyclist lost control, skidding before the fatal fall.

An investigation is underway to clarify the exact circumstances of this tragedy that occurred at the end of the year, once again renewing calls for caution on the roads, especially for motorcyclists.
