Abandoned Baby in Rose-Hill: Mother Still Hospitalized, Brother Released on Bail

A 29-year-old woman arrested for abandoning her baby in a bag hung on the door of a church in Rose-Hill is still in the hospital. During her interrogation, the Dagotière resident explained that she could not afford to care for the infant. She cited difficult financial circumstances that led her to make this decision.

The young mother's brother was also arrested in connection with this case. He allegedly drove his sister to Rose-Hill on a motorcycle. A provisional charge of aiding and abetting was brought against him yesterday in Rose-Hill court.

He has been released on bail after posting Rs 10,000. The investigation is ongoing.
