Farmers head to their fields early in the morning to work before the sun becomes too strong, watering or harvesting their crops. This is the case for Aneerood Ramgoolam, who has been involved in subsistence farming since 1986. After leaving Riche-Terre to settle in Arsenal in 2007, he now faces labor shortages and works alone in his field starting at 6 AM, although some family members assist him part-time.
