Chagos: 'It would be unfair to repeat the mistake of 1965,' argues Misley Mandarin
The interim First Minister of the Chagossian government in exile, Misley Mandarin, has sent a formal letter to British Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer and Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, Yvette Cooper, urging the UK to suspend any ratification of the treaty concerning the transfer of sovereignty of the Chagos archipelago to Mauritius. In this letter, he asserts that this process must be paused as long as 'questions remain unresolved.'
