Emtel Celebrates Christmas with Over 475 Children
In line with its social commitment, Emtel organized its traditional Christmas party as part of its charitable initiative "Enn Zanfan Enn Sourir". This year, over 475 children from underprivileged backgrounds in Mauritius, Rodrigues, and Agaléga had the chance to experience wonderful moments of joy and sharing. Launched in 2017, this initiative is carried out in collaboration with the Currimjee Foundation and various local partners.
During these festive days, the children received school supplies, Christmas gifts, meals, and participated in fun activities, culminating in a much-anticipated surprise visit from Santa Claus. Ranging in age from 1 to 18 years, the beneficiaries come from diverse situations: children living in care facilities, from vulnerable families, or those with specific needs.
In Mauritius, the event took place on November 30 at the JA Marie Marot Centre in Quatre Bornes, in partnership with the NGO Light of Hope. In Rodrigues, it was held on December 14 in Baladirou, thanks to a partnership with the Rotary Club of Rodrigues. Finally, the children of Agaléga participated in the event organized on December 12, 2025, at the Tsunami Centre, coordinated by the Outer Islands Development Corporation (OIDC), ensuring a respectful implementation of local realities.
This inclusive approach reflects Emtel's desire to support as many underprivileged children as possible on a national scale. The initiative also aims to facilitate access to education by providing school supplies, thereby improving the living conditions and future prospects of the most vulnerable children.
"A deep commitment to communities"
According to Kresh Goomany, Chief Executive Officer of Emtel, this action showcases the spirit of solidarity that drives the company: "At Emtel, we believe that every child deserves not only a smile but also the opportunity to thrive and grow in an environment that promotes their well-being and development. The "Enn Zanfan Enn Sourir" initiative illustrates our deep and lasting commitment to communities, particularly the most vulnerable, by offering them support, assistance, and joyful moments. Every gesture, every smile, and every partnership we build reflects our desire to work together towards a more supportive and inclusive future."
Having become an essential event during the holiday season over the years, "Enn Zanfan Enn Sourir" is sustained through strong partnerships between the private sector, NGOs, and local institutions. Through this initiative, Emtel reaffirms its purpose: to build a better future together and contribute to the well-being of communities across the country.
