Gastroenteritis: Caution Advised After 920 Cases in Six Days
The heat wave settling in at the end of the year comes with a health alert. Between December 15 and 21, 2025, 920 cases of gastroenteritis were reported across the country, according to the Acting Director of Health Services and Public Health, Fazil Khodabocus. This concerning figure prompts authorities to reiterate essential prevention rules, especially during periods of high temperatures.
Dr. Khodabocus emphasizes that the heat can exacerbate the spread of gastrointestinal diseases, and he urges the public to maintain proper hygiene and food safety practices to mitigate risks.
