The cast iron karay will no longer flame. At Karay Mario, we will close on Tuesday, December 30. The announcement of the restaurant's closure by Mario de l’Estrac in Beau-Vallon on December 11 has made an impact. Since then, regulars have been eager to savor this slow-cooked cuisine one last time. Evidence of this surge in visitors: the jars of spiced rum at the counter are all empty.

"It's not glorious; we found our niche," explains the restaurateur.
