IBL Supports 'An Incredible Christmas' and Offers a Unique Experience to Two Children from Reunion
IBL has supported the fifth edition of 'An Incredible Christmas,' an initiative by the Reunionese Association 1000 Smiles, aimed at providing an exceptional trip to two children from modest backgrounds in Reunion, which they would not have otherwise had the chance to experience. The two beneficiaries of this edition, Darel (9 years old) and Maïza (10 years old), traveled to Mauritius for a trip organized from December 8 to 18.
Among the highlights of their program was a day at Île aux Cerfs, which included golf lessons, beach activities, and lagoon exploration. The children were also welcomed at IBL House for a sharing moment filled with readings, Christmas workshops, and a gift distribution. On this occasion, Athéna (8 years old) and Alexandro (11 years old), two children from Bois Marchand supported by the Joseph Lagesse Foundation, were also invited.
"Our purpose, 'Shaping better lives and better tomorrows. Together,' is reflected in tangible actions. 'An Incredible Christmas' is a great example of this. By supporting this Reunionese initiative and welcoming these children to our home, we also strengthen the bond between Mauritius and Reunion, affirming our role in the region—especially with our sister island where we are very active," emphasizes Arnaud Lagesse, Group CEO of IBL.
Ibrahim Ingar, president of the 1000 Smiles Association, adds: "'An Incredible Christmas' allows these children to experience magical moments and meet wonderful people, without knowing in advance what awaits them. We are delighted to have been able to take them to Mauritius this year thanks to IBL's support. It is a beautiful encounter between our two islands."
The children's experiences were featured in a special one-hour broadcast aired on Thursday, December 25, during prime time on Réunion La 1ère, allowing these moments to be shared with a wide audience and highlighting an initiative based on humanity, kindness, and sharing.
