Environment: More Ants Than Usual: Invasion or Seasonal Effect?

In kitchens, on terraces, at the base of walls, or around garbage bins, and sometimes even in bed sheets, they seem to be everywhere, establishing nests. This year, the same observation is being made: there appear to be more ants than in previous years. This is a persistent impression, almost universal. But is it truly an unusual proliferation, or is it a feeling amplified by seasonal conditions?
