Fatal New Year's Accidents: Transport Minister Takes a Tough Stance Against Reckless Drivers

The year 2026 begins tragically on Mauritian roads. Two fatal accidents occurred on January 1st in the center of the island, resulting in the deaths of two individuals and leaving several others injured.

In Quartier-Militaire, a violent collision between two cars on Bypass Road led to the death of a 66-year-old woman. Six other individuals were injured, two of them seriously. In Sébastopol, a head-on collision between two vehicles on the main road resulted in further casualties.
