At the Heart of the News - Mauritius Facing Economic Challenges: What Priorities and Choices for 2026?

Mauritius' economy is at a crossroads. In his New Year speech, Prime Minister Navin Ramgoolam emphasized that the economy is a top priority for 2026. But which direction should the country take? What new growth sectors should be developed? Most importantly, how should Mauritius navigate the challenges posed by artificial intelligence, which is disrupting all industries: is it a historic opportunity or a threat to jobs and the economic model?

For this first show of the year, "At the Heart of the News" opens the debate on Monday, January 5th. Patrick Hilbert will host guests including Amit Bakhirta, founder and CEO of ANNEAU; economist Manisha Dookhony; and strategic communication consultant Rabin Bhujun.
