High Attendance at Public Beaches Since the Beginning of the Year: Nearly 500 Tons of Waste Removed

Public beaches have been overwhelmed during the festive season, leading to a dramatic increase in waste. According to the Beach Authority, nearly 500 tons of solid waste have been collected, while an ordinary weekend typically generates between 75 and 80 tons.

Since the start of the year, the police have issued 21 fines at the beaches, mainly for illegal parking violations, reports Kavish Pattoo, Officer-in-Charge of the Beach Authority.

In light of this situation, Kavish Pattoo calls for respect for public spaces.
