Alleged Scam: A Family Traps a Suspected Fraudster via WhatsApp Call
A family from the South claims to have been targeted in a scam attempt involving a fake transaction made through Juice ATM. The incident reportedly occurred on January 2nd.
According to the family's account, an individual sent them a text message claiming he had mistakenly transferred money to their account. He then requested that they send back the supposedly sent amount.
Suspecting fraudulent activity, the family members pretended to be confused and engaged in a WhatsApp call with the man, which they recorded. They explained that they intentionally led him to believe the transaction was "successful," when in fact it was "unsuccessful."
The family asserts that no transfer had taken place and believes it was an attempt at manipulation-based fraud. They decided to share the recorded video to raise public awareness and urge caution against such unsolicited financial calls. The family also alerted the police.
They encourage citizens to always check their bank statements and never make refunds without official confirmation of the transaction from their bank.
