Road Safety: The Transport Minister Meets with the Traffic Branch at Central Barracks

Four people have already lost their lives on our roads since the beginning of 2026. The latest victim is a 57-year-old woman involved in an accident last Sunday in Bel-Ombre.

In light of this concerning situation, Transport Minister Osman Mahomed visited the Central Barracks to meet with officers from the Traffic Branch. This working meeting provided an opportunity to assess the state of road safety in the country.

Further meetings are scheduled for this month to introduce new amendments and enhance safety on our roads, the minister stated.
