Following an alert regarding Mpox, Madagascar has been added to the list of high-risk countries. Passengers arriving from this nation will be closely monitored, according to Dr. Fazil Khodabocus.

He emphasizes that Mpox spreads from person to person, primarily through close contact with an infected individual. Symptoms include painful skin rashes, swollen lymph nodes, fever, and muscle aches.

"Dermatologists are on call to manage patients displaying these symptoms and assist in diagnosis," he points out. Additionally, isolation rooms are available in regional hospitals in case the disease is detected in Mauritius.
