Governing Austerity (or Enduring Resentment)
The courage to diagnose without the courage to implement a method is no longer sufficient. Navin Ramgoolam's New Year speech marked a turning point: the end of illusions, acceptance of unpopularity, and acknowledgment of demographic and budgetary constraints. Very well. However, history rarely judges leaders based on their observations. It primarily judges them on their ability to transform austerity into a project.
