CAN-2025: The Living Statue of Lumumba Becomes an Icon of Congolese Stands
An icon of the Africa Cup of Nations. Motionless during all the matches of the DRC, Congolese supporter Michel Kuka Mboladinga made his mark on the 35th edition of the Africa Cup held in Morocco by transforming into a living statue depicting Patrice Lumumba, a hero of Congo's independence. Standing on a podium in the stands, gazing at the sky with his right arm raised, palm open, and the other arm resting by his side, he first distinguished himself with his solemn posture and then with his outfits in vibrant colors.
