PL: MU Settles for a Draw in Fletcher's Debut, Newcastle Snatches Incredible Victory

The Premier League had matches scheduled for 8:30 PM and 9:15 PM. Following Manchester City's draw at home against Brighton (1-1), the other Manchester team, United, headed to Burnley for their first game after the firing of Ruben Amorim. Darren Fletcher maintained a similar lineup, with Sesko starting as the striker. Young Heaven was confirmed in defense and unfortunately kicked off the evening by scoring an own goal (13th minute). The Red Devils did not panic and worked hard to find an equalizer, which came in the second half from Slovenian striker Sesko, who scored twice (50th, 60th minutes). MU seemed on track to secure a win, but shortly after, Antony leveled the score again (67th minute).

Former U19 coach Fletcher introduced young talents like Mainoo and Lacey. In his second professional appearance, Lacey nearly changed the game with a curling left-footed shot that hit the crossbar (85th minute). With a final score of 2-2, the Red Devils settled for their 4th consecutive draw, currently sitting 7th in the Premier League and remaining inconsistent in their results. Meanwhile, Newcastle achieved an unbelievable 4-3 victory at St James’ Park against Leeds. Despite trailing 2-3 at the start of stoppage time, the Magpies turned the game around with a penalty from Guimarães (90th minute) and a last-minute goal by Barnes (90+12 minutes), allowing them to claim 6th place.

Results of the 9:15 PM matches:

Burnley 2-2 Manchester United: Heaven (own goal 13th), Antony (67th); Sesko (50th, 60th)

Newcastle 4-3 Leeds: Barnes (36th, 90+12), Joelinton (54th), Guimarães (penalty 90th); Aaronson (32nd, 78th), Calvert-Lewin (penalty 45+5)
