The Revenue Tribunal Officially Operational Since January 5th

The Revenue Tribunal (RT) officially commenced operations on January 5, 2026, taking over from the Assessment Review Committee (ARC). The RT is an independent institution tasked with hearing and resolving appeals related to tax issues and revenue, as part of a reform aimed at modernizing and streamlining the resolution of tax disputes.

Since that date, all appeals previously directed to the ARC now fall under the jurisdiction of the RT. Its mission is to resolve disputes fairly, efficiently, and swiftly, prioritizing independence, impartiality, integrity, and accessibility. The procedures for filing and processing appeals will be detailed in the rules published in the Government Gazette.
