After the Earthquake in Rodrigues: Experts Called to Examine Building Standards on the Island

Following the 5.4 magnitude earthquake that struck Rodrigues on Tuesday, January 6th, damaging several homes, Deputy Commissioner Johnson Roussety conducted a field visit the next day accompanied by engineers from the Infrastructure Commission to assess the affected areas. He promised official assistance to households whose homes were damaged and stated that he had called in experts to examine the building standards on the island.
