Over 18,000 Primary and Secondary Students Begin School Year

As the major school year kick-off is scheduled for tomorrow, Tuesday, January 13, 18,000 students are making a fresh start today. Specifically, 8,712 children are entering Grade 1 in primary schools, while around 10,000 students are advancing to Grade 7 in secondary education.

The Minister of Education, Mahend Gungapersad, stated to the press that it is crucial for students to maintain a proper balance between academic responsibilities and extracurricular activities that promote their development.
