Argentina: Wildfires in Patagonia: Over 15,000 Hectares Devastated Since Monday
Violent wildfires have been raging in Argentine Patagonia since Monday, destroying nearly 15,000 hectares of vegetation. On Sunday, hundreds of firefighters and volunteers were still mobilized to try to control the flames.
The main focus of the fire is near the town of Epuyén, in the province of Chubut, situated between a glacial lake and hills covered with ancient forests. According to the provincial fire service, nearly 12,000 hectares have already been affected by the blaze.
