The vice-president of the Savanne District Council, Rajaye Putanah, resigned ahead of the review of a motion of censure that was scheduled to be debated on Monday, January 12. This motion followed internal tensions related to certain decisions made by the elected official, which several council members found contentious.

According to Robert Toulouse, a council member from Chemin-Grenier, these decisions were perceived as contrary to the interests and proper functioning of the council.
