Friendship: An 80-Year-Old Woman Dies in a House Fire

A tragic end for Etwareea Gopeea, an 80-year-old woman. A fire broke out in her home on Bramsthan Road, Friendship, last night, January 11. Firefighters from the Piton station were dispatched to the scene and managed to extinguish the flames, but the house and two goat sheds were completely destroyed by the fire.

While clearing the debris, the firefighters discovered the charred body of the victim. An investigation has been launched by the Fire Investigation Unit to determine the exact circumstances surrounding this incident.
