Vivo Energy Mauritius Equips the NGO Rêve et Espoir to Improve the Daily Lives of Children with Disabilities

Vivo Energy Mauritius, the holder of the Shell franchise in Mauritius, has donated a set of specialized equipment to the NGO Rêve et Espoir to assist its residents with disabilities in their educational, therapeutic, and recreational activities. The ceremony took place at the association's premises in Rivière Noire, attended by Arnaud Guichard, EVP Retail & Commercial of Vivo Energy, Fouad Khfifi, Managing Director, Belinda Teeroovengadum, Communications Manager of Vivo Energy Mauritius, and Teeraj Tupsy, Manager of Rêve et Espoir. This initiative is part of the "Building Healthier Futures" project, reflecting the company's commitment to societal engagement in health.

Wheelchairs now enable students to move independently within their institution and engage more actively in educational activities. Prosthetics and immobilization braces allow some young individuals to regain independence in their actions, rebuild their confidence, and fully participate in workshops and physical exercises. A reading area set up in the playground provides a conducive environment for intellectual development. The books for the library come from direct donations by Vivo Energy and personal contributions from employees. New adaptive desks enhance the classroom setup.

"This support represents an investment in each child's potential. Health and education are at the core of Vivo Energy’s social strategy, and we are pleased to contribute to their autonomy and learning," says Fouad Khfifi, Managing Director of Vivo Energy Mauritius.

"For Vivo Energy, our success is closely tied to the success of the communities where we operate. We want to actively contribute to local development and leave a lasting impact. I am happy to see projects materializing in this direction in Mauritius," emphasizes Arnaud Guichard, EVP Retail & Commercial of Vivo Energy.

Founded in 1996, Rêve et Espoir supports young people with disabilities by providing them with a secure and caring environment. The establishment accommodates around forty beneficiaries and offers comprehensive support, including specialized educational assistance, rehabilitation programs with occupational therapy, psychological supervision, massages, and vocational activities aimed at developing their skills and broadening their future prospects.

For Teeraj Tupsy, Manager of Rêve et Espoir, "thanks to this support, our students benefit from a better-adapted environment, with additional resources for their learning and well-being. Rêve et Espoir can thus continue to promote inclusion, giving everyone the opportunity to develop at their own pace, with pride and autonomy. On behalf of the students, parents, and educators, I wish to express our sincere gratitude to Vivo Energy for their generous support and their presence with us today. Their commitment not only transforms the daily lives of our children but also helps to build a more inclusive community and offers more promising opportunities to an entire generation."

Vivo Energy Mauritius continues its collaborations with health authorities and local associations to support the well-being of communities.
