At the Airport: Seizure of Rs 210 Million in Drugs

At Plaisance Airport, two French nationals, aged 35 and 47, were arrested on Wednesday, January 21, by the Customs Anti-Narcotics Section (CANS) for attempting to import narcotics. One of them works as a caregiver. They were found with 42.65 kg of cannabis and hashish in their suitcases. Authorities also confiscated cocaine. The total value of the drugs is estimated to be around Rs 210 million. A 'Controlled Delivery' operation had been set up by the Anti-Drug and Smuggling Unit (ADSU), but the local accomplices expected to collect the goods did not show up.
