Sudan: Over Eight Million Children Deprived of School for Nearly 500 Days

Nearly three years of conflict in Sudan have left over eight million children out of school, marking one of the longest interruptions globally, warned the NGO Save the Children on Thursday.

According to the organization, nearly half of the 17 million children of school age—about eight million—have spent around 484 days without stepping into a classroom. This figure even surpasses the disruptions seen during the Covid-19 pandemic.
