Fatal Accident in New-Grove: Former Mayor Rajenee Mootoo-Caroopen Loses Her Life

A serious road accident occurred on Wednesday, January 21, in New-Grove, claiming the life of Rajenee Mootoo-Caroopen, the former mayor of Beau-Bassin–Rose-Hill. At 67 years old, she died instantly following a violent collision between a car and a van.

Rajenee Mootoo-Caroopen was traveling in the van, which also carried her husband and their two children, all residents of Beau-Bassin. The family was on their way to the airport.
